ELECTRICAL POWER SUBSTATION

Rehabilitation of 5 substations

Paris has 36 electrical substations, primarily built in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, transforming electrical energy from 225,000 volts to 20,000 volts to supply approximately 60,000 customers each.

In 2024, confronted with the obsolescence of some substations due to new safety standards and technologies, ENEDIS and RTE are embarking on a renovation transition.

The complexity lies in the need to reevaluate old plans, hence the use of point cloud technology.

My involvement focused on the refurbishment of 5 electrical substations in Île-de-France, with the following objectives:

  • Establishing a solid foundation for studies and verification.
  • Examining the feasibility of the project using Building Information Modeling (BIM) in collaboration with network managers.
  • Leveraging the digital model through sections and plans to clearly visualize cable routes between various electrical equipment.

Use Case: Providing a robust foundation for studies and verifying, in collaboration with network managers, the feasibility of analyses using point cloud technology to modernize electrical substations.
